Herbert Schultes. He actually wanted to become a film director when towards the end of the 1950s, Herbert Schultes came across the Siemens design department. It was the beginning of a great career as a designer. From 1985 to the year 2000, Schultes worked for Siemens as Chief Designer. He developed designs for Agfa, Atomic, Bulthaup and Osram, and his works are part of the New York MoMA collection and the Chicago Athaneum. He plays a major role in the organisation of the International Design Conference in Aspen as chairman for the German presence. In 2001 he was honoured with the »Cross of the Order of Merit« of the Federal Republic of Germany followed by the »Federal Award for Design« in 2002.
